There are enough diameters available to keep small or weak hands satisfied too smaller ones for hands that cant grip something so wide. Also available are colored rubber grips that you can attach to the grab bars and make it extra safe to hold on to. Depending on what your bathroom looks like you might think: "I dont want these ugly old grab bars in my bathroom! It will make the place look like a hospital room and I dont want that!" This is a fallacy. The bars come in shining stainless steel and white brushed nickel and old world bronze for that feel of home instead of the cold cruelty of a hospital room. The ends of the bars can be balls or ornate fixtures as well so you dont have to go pick out the standard just because it exists - there are plenty of items to choose from.
There is something for everyone in this line of accessories so all it takes is a little looking around to find something that will suit you. If you need a grab bars dont be embarrassed to get one! They are essential to bathroom safety and can make things a lot more comfortable for anyone that needs them. There is no shame in admitting that you might need some help getting in and out of the tub but with the purchase and installation of a grab bar you dont necessarily have to admit anything to anyone! These items are great for people who cant move around as well as they could or even for homes with small children that have trouble navigating a big bathtub.
Most grab bars are not designed to take a persons full body weight. Installation of grab bars is easy if they have the suction cup base you just stick the suckers on. This type of grab bar is easy to remove and re-install in another area. Most grab bars are however made for screw fixing which makes them a more permanent fixture. Grab bars can be made of plastic or chrome and can fit with most bathroom colour schemes. More expensive grab bars that have the suction cup type base include a suction indicator to show if the product is attached correctly and a soft grip finish making them more comfortable to use. The price of grab bars ranges from a couple of dollars to upwards of $40 depending on the material it is made of and the added features that it includes. This estimate of cost does not include installation.
